fun fact: pumpkin spice is not made from pumpkins. in fact, it isnt even an ingredient in it. it's actually made with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg or mace, cloves, and allspice

the reason that Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte is called that is because the spices used in it are the spices used in pumpkin pie. extra fun fact: most pumpkin pies contain no actual pumpkins either (the insides of pumpkins are just too fibrous and watery (roughly 90% water) and not sweet enough to make a decent filling).
